It's several years after the miraculous events of "A Christmas Carol". Scrooge has benevolently godfathered “Tiny Tim” Cratchit, now a partner at Scrooge, Cratchit & Marley, but fears Tim is becoming too much like the money-driven Scrooge of old, and tries to match him with the comely office manager Rose. Moreover, Scrooge can't shed his remorse over the plight of Jacob Marley, who remains condemned to wander eternity in chains.
To reverse this, Scrooge has hatched a plan to reconnect with Marley’s ghost the next night, Christmas Eve, by visiting, accompanied by Tim, three colorful "spiritualists". Tim comes away from these séances” - which range from comedic to poignant to horrifying - recognizing both his misplaced values and his love for Rose, but the plan to contact Marley has failed. Until Scrooge returns home alone to find the old ghost, in chains, waiting for him, along with an unearthly Tribunal that will decide both of their fates.
A family entertainment with a memorable score and literate story, "Ebenezer Ever After" is by turns funny, suspenseful and celebratory... in the best "spirit" of the holiday season."
